Karen moved to the Willamette Valley from Portland and began her real estate career in 1969 as Administrative Assistant to the President of Republic Development Co., at that time one of the largest development/construction companies in Oregon. While working at Republic she was thoroughly schooled in all phases of construction, residential and project financing, and subdivision development in Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon, and the Oregon Coast.
In 1971 she decided to enter the selling side of the real estate industry and obtained her sales license. She then studied with Norm Webb in Salem to obtain her Brokers license and passed the Brokers Exam in 1972.
After overseeing three real estate offices as Broker/Manager and working for two national franchises, Karen joined Wines Realty in 2008 to become part of a progressive, locally-owned, full service real estate brokerage. Wines Realty has been in operation more than 40 years serving Albany and surrounding communities in the mid-Willamette Valley.
Karen now has over 35 years experience in real estate specializing in exchange & commercial transactions while maintaining interest and involvement in residential and land development projects.
She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, National Council of Exchangers, and the Willamette Valley Multiple Listing Service. She also serves on the local Professional Standards Committee, and has participated for 3 years on the Linn County Board of Property Tax Appeals.
